A few reasons why...
Things that the Bible has prophesised,
An identity system with a ‘mark’ on the right hand or the forehead for buying and selling - And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. - Revelation 13.17 - King James Version
Transhumanism - ‘And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.’ Daniel 2.43, King James version.
A one world religion - ‘And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, (the Beast) whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.’ Revelation 13.8 King James version
Inflation - Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Revelation 6.6
The Bible also shares that there will be a great deal of spiritual deception in the last days - ‘For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.’ Matthew 24:24
What the Bible does not mention is ascension, a great awakening. The idea that we are all gods and goddesses, shifting into 5D, and living forever.
It does warn against is eating from the tree of ‘good and evil,’ and falling for Satan’s lie that we can become God.
‘And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’ Genesis 3.4
‘’But it’s just predictive programming’’ – An odd kind of ‘programming when God, and Jesus win in the end.
Then I saw “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21
‘’Man-made religion is just designed to control’’ - A man made religion that the Bible itself warns about, especially in the ‘last days,’ when it criticizes the church for being corrupt, with only a ‘remnant’ of believers who are true to the original teachings.
For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God. They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but will have repudiated its power. So avoid people like these. Timothy 3-9
‘’It’s truth and lies mixed in together.’’ ‘’It’s edited and distorted by humans.’’ – If you think this is the case, (as I did,) it takes reading the book in its entirety, comparing different versions, finding out what the original Hebrew words were and what they mean. And a whole lot of praying, (if you believe in a God), or using your own inner compass for truth discerning, in order to begin to come to any conclusions about what is truth and what, if any of it, is lies.
‘’But it’s a boring old book.’’ Yes I thought so too, it used to literally send me to sleep and was an impenetrable maze of words that I couldn’t understand. But it’s also, as one Christian friend told me, a ‘’living book…its how God speaks to us.’’ Sometimes it takes reaching out to God, before it comes alive, through prayer or asking for illumination. And when the Holy Spirit fills you, the words come to life, and it actually becomes an exciting book - in my experience. I can’t wait to read it every night before bed, and I never thought in a million years I’d say that!
With all of this prophecy of armageddon, what hope do we have?
Jesus is coming back to establish a new earth. But before that there will be huge troubles on the earth such as have never been known before here. It already is a time of persecution for Christians here on earth and and even more so moving forward.
The Bible doesn’t sugar coat this saying many will die in Jesus’s name.
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. Revelation 2:10 NIV version.
There is also what is called, the rapture, an event when living believers are lifted up into the air.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - Thessalonians 4.17
There is much debate amongst Christians about whether it takes place before, during, or after the tribulation. Reading the Bible and listening to expert Pastors can help us to discern for ourselves.
If God shares truth of what is to come in the Bible, then are his miracles also true? The parting of the red sea, the protecting of Daniel in the lion’s den, and his friend’s when they are thrown into a furnace? In Psalm 41 we are told that God’s people ‘shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.’
While the Bible version of reality may seem scary to those who have been accustomed to the ‘great awakening’ narrative, it’s been my experience that the genuine comfort we can get from God is worth so much more than Satan’s counterfeit story.
It’s undeniable that the Bible contains truth about our reality. Whatever you believe in this present moment, it’s worth reading to discern for yourself, where the full truth really lies.
