How Not To Get Involved In The Culture War
Since I gave up fb I’ve noticed I’ve been spending time scrolling through youtube looking at the videos that are suggested for me. Usually with youtube I’d just look at the channels I’m subscribed to, but it seems like my scrolling addiction shifted to another platform (albeit less frequently). Anyway, as I make a mental note to stop scrolling, I wanted to share what I’ve noticed about what the algorithm is trying to serve me.
It’s mainly Christian content, but it’s like it’s always trying to pull me towards the world. There’s videos about wokeism, and about how we need to fight to get the UK back to being a Christian country. There’s videos about how even the democrats are now voting for Trump. It was YouTube that told me that Calvin Robinson had left the UK due to the new Labour government and is now ‘continuing the fight,’ from the US.
But what fight is it really?
Ephesians 6:12 says, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
We are in a spiritual war, and the battle ground is our own hearts and minds that get pulled towards the temptations of the world.
Romans 12.2 says, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
If you’ve read the Bible you’ll know what it says about sexuality, and gender, and these are important issues for God. You’ll also know about what God thinks about worshipping other Gods and how much he hates it.
However, it’s like the Hegelian dialectic; problem, reaction, solution.
It seems like the enemy wants us to over focus on the problem in the world, so that we can then react. Because reacting Christians look bad, they look racist and bigoted. They look angry and rude and offensive. They put people off Christianity and I suspect it is also part of the big plan to increase conflict and division so that the great man of ‘unity’ can step on the stage; The Antichrist.
When a high profile ‘truther’ professes faith in God, but continues to talk about fighting, and being against the system and the woke agenda, etc. etc. then I start to wonder if they are just controlling the opposition (whether knowingly or not, their content can pull us into the culture war.)
Because, God wants to be with us always. Are we with him when we are falling down rabbit holes, or spending more time on youtube than we are praying and reading his word? Sometimes it feels like the hardest thing in the world for me to switch off, and just spend time with God. But it’s also the most rewarding.
When we spend time with God we begin to discern his voice, his will, his guidance in our lives. We may begin to have dreams and visions. We won’t find God in the roar of online arguments but in the silence when we fully switch off.
The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12

This documentary Aquarius The Age Of Evil explains more about the rise of the antichrist and how it will look like peace, love and unity. Also how the truther movement became a new age movement to derail truth seekers into believing in the false light.
On my sister blog, I’ve just written about the dangers of spirit guides, with links to some stories of those who were deceived by them.
