Life-Support
TRIGGER WARNING - THIS POST REFERS TO TORTURE, AND THE BIBLE
I had such a strange and disturbing dream last night. I was watching a man in a hospital. He had multiple tubes connected up to him. One was a feeding tube. The ‘doctor’ or whoever it was, was going to remove the tube for periods at a time, starving the person. It seemed that this was some kind of experiment, some kind of torture to see how long the person would last before they gave in. The person was a rebel, one of the ones saying no, but they were no longer strong and defiant. They were helpless as if in the face of a psychopathic parent.
I woke up and thought to myself that it represented the system, and being reliant on it for life support. How many have felt they had to comply because they feel like they can’t do without the life-support?
Something struck me yesterday about all this from a biblical perspective. I’ve been reading the bible, although not from any conventional religious standpoint (as most of us know the mainstream church is deeply corrupt).
The bible says, 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The passage explains how we do not need to worry about being provided for. When we seek the kingdom of God, he knows what we need and will provide. The life-support that can be sadistically removed with non-compliance is not holy. It is the work of the psychopaths who we have grown up to rely upon.
Now this is our letting go, our removing of the tubes, and it can feel terrifying. But if we don’t let go, then we remain at the mercy of psychopath.
If we let go, and do what is right, and align with God, then we can find a different kind of support, one that is divine.
So take a deep leap of trust, and believe that you can breathe, without them, you can eat without them, you can earn a living without them and support yourself and your family without them. I truly believe that we will find a way when we choose God’s way.
