The Great Cosmic Deception
This long summer has flown by in a blur of travel and visitors coming to stay. Back in June I had a dream that it was September and all the restrictions had come back again. I was standing in line, with some official papers that I had to show for some reason. Ever since I’ve had that dream I’ve wondered, was it a prediction of the future, or just my worst fears, beneath the sheer gratitude I have that I’m actually allowed to do things again. Summer was the antithesis of a winter I spent mainly at home, in the lockdown of a minority group that one Italian politician referred to as ‘vermin.’
Like many in my position last winter, I tried to tell myself that everything was okay, that I could still connect with like-minded people, that we were building an alternative subculture, to break free from the system. But were we?
This morning as I was lying in bed before getting up, I reflected on it, the idea I’d learnt about through psychics and channelers, of the ‘new earth.’ That human consciousness was ‘ascending’ and as it did so, all the problems and struggles in our reality would disappear, as our ‘high vibration’ would bring about a new age of peace, love and unity.
At the end of last year/beginning of this year, I’d also become curious about the concept of the ‘mark of the beast.’ Since I wasn’t able to go into shops and ‘buy and sell; it sounded eerily like what was predicted in The Book of Revelation. At the end of the Bible, after all the destruction has taken place, the old earth passes away, and a new earth takes it’s place.
‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.’ - Revelation 21:2
I was excited to read that this concept of the new earth that I’d heard so much about, was also there written in this book too. But I also had many questions about how this book fitted in with my spiritual beliefs. For example, the Bible doesn’t mention ascension of human consciousness at all. Instead there is a time of mass destruction, and persecution of followers of Christ, before the new earth is created. When I asked one of the psychics I followed, she told me that it is important to understand that the Bible is metaphorical.
As I read more however, I realised, that metaphor or not, what the Bible says, is simply, incompatible with other spiritual beliefs. For example, the Bible clearly says, we only have one life, (no reincarnation). The idea of Karma, and living other lives, is simply not compatible with the story that Jesus came to earth to die for our sins, so that we could be forgiven. There’s no karma to work off, if we have Jesus for that.
While non-religious spiritual philosophy encouraged me to believe that all spiritual beliefs could happily co-exist as one, the Bible was quite clearly saying, no, there is only one way.
Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life, no-one comes through the father but by me.’
In her book ‘The Externalisation of The Hierarchy,’ Helena Blavatsky, widely regarded as the founder of the new age movement, talks about the ‘fundamental spiritual union of the East and the West, the Buddha and the Christ,’ but this is a union that the Bible opposes.
Blavatsky adds quotes from the Bible to her words, as if it held some measure of truth to her, and yet, neglects to address the fundamental issue, that the Bible as a whole is not compatible with her perspective. The Bible repeatedly warns against channelling, and mediumship and Blavatsky’s information was channelled. Blavatksy shares that anyone has the potential to be a Christ.
‘here is a growing and developing belief that Christ is in us, as He was in the Master Jesus (the externalisation of the hierarchy)
Yet the Bible says,
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 24:5-8
‘New age’ spirituality does not seek to refute Jesus. It seeks to absorb the story of the Bible and blend it together with its own teachings. Yet the Bible tells a story that is not compatible with new age teachings. It warns again and again about discerning truth, and refuting lies, and says that in the end times,
"For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24).
Lucis Trust, (formally Lucifer Publishing), a non-profit organisation that promotes the work of Helena Blavatsky, has close ties with the United Nations, and has worked with them to promote ‘interfaith harmony.’ While it sounds very love, and light, again, the Bible warns against a one world religion that could actually result in people being deceived into worshipping the antichrist.
‘And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.
It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them.
And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.’ Revelation - 13.
It has become more and more clear to me that the Bible is a trustworthy friend that speaks truth, whereas the new age teachings, are part of a huge cosmic psy op to help to usher in the very system we are all opposed to. This wasn’t something I ‘wanted’ to believe, I was hugely resistant to it, but in the end my hunger for truth won out.
