Warning, this post goes into some pretty heavy information about end times persecution of Christians but I am sharing it so we can all be aware.
Some big names in the ‘truth movement’ have begun to talk about God, and Jesus, when previously they were into the new age. I’ve been sceptical of some of these big names. Their stories of conversion are often very different to those of my friends who’ve been on a similar path to me. Most of the ex new agers I know share their stories of repentance, they want to warn others of the dangers of the new age, they want to share the Gospel with as many as possible. They often look at ‘truther’ information less (what the world would call ‘conspiracy theory’).
Now firstly let me say that we are on a journey and some people come to faith in different ways and at a different pace. God is the only one who can ultimately judge, but we pray for and use discernment, particularly when someone has a huge platform.
Here’s a few potential red flags of some of these high profile conversions;
They don’t warn others about the previous new age practises they were active in.
They don’t always mention much about repentance.
Their version of God, mixes up some new age concepts.
They begin using their platform to ‘teach’ right away.
They aren’t sharing the Gospel, or emphasising that Jesus is the only way.
They continue to see what we are going through as a physical fight for ‘freedom’ rather than emphasising that we are in a spiritual war. (Ephesians 6.12).
Obviously there is a lot of nuance to this, so don’t take this list as a definitive diagnosis or way to accuse people. But nevertheless it’s good to exercise caution with big names. (some may be genuine, some fake, we can hold it lightly and just be aware that there may be cause for concern)
I feel like I’ve had a few pieces of a puzzle, but haven’t been able to see the picture clearly. I’ve had some questions.
As someone who was in the new age I can see the dangers of the new age, and how it can lead us into a one world religion where faiths merge. But why are people with big platforms claiming faith in a way that seems a bit ‘off’? If some of them are wolves in sheep’s clothing, then what are they trying to do?
Have you heard of the NAR? You can check out this link from Got Questions which has some info about it. But, basically the NAR - New Apostolic Reformation, is a type of charismatic Christianity, where followers believe something called The Seven Mountain Mandate; that Christians must take ‘dominion’ over 7 areas of society - Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, and Business.
Some of these believers think that Jesus will not return until Christians have taken enough influence in all these areas.
I’d heard about NAR, and mainly knew about ideas from it that sound a bit new agey, such as the prosperity Gospel - that faith will give us health and wealth for all who just believe. I’d heard stories of people who had fallen away from the faith when God didn’t supply the expected riches, so I could see how harmful it was.
But there’s something even darker about the NAR, that could relate to what happens in the end times.
In ‘The Culture Of The Sacred Purge’ Steve Montgomery writes about his experiences with a cult-like group of Christians who believed that in the end times there would be Christians whose job it would be to actually execute the judgements of God. Their role would be to ‘purge’ the world of those deemed to be ungodly. (ie kill them).
In the 1980’s Montgomery interviewed twenty leaders involved in the Latter Rain movement (which NAR has its roots in), and 18 of them agreed with this interpretation of end times. You can read about this in more detail in his article here.
I learnt this information via the Magical Mystery Church, YouTube Channel, which exposes the NAR. It’s pretty detailed and I have only scratched the surface of what Laura puts out in her amazing, and very artistically put together films. So go and watch her videos to see how this is playing out in the modern, NAR movement.
If you have read the book of revelation, you will read about the persecution of Christians who lose their lives. But could it be that false Christians will kill Christians thinking they are doing the will of God? The kind of Christians who see nothing wrong with merging their faith with new agers, and other faiths that seem to be in agreement about their earthly goals. (The one world religion)
What’s really weird is the concept of the ‘sacred purge’ is also to be found in the writings of Alice Bailey, who had a major role in the new age movement. This is regarded as a ‘purging’ of low vibrational energies from the earth, rather than a literal killing of humans.
However, I don’t find it inconceivable that it could become literal when we think of what the new age really is; opening up to demonic influence, that comes as ‘love and light’ but could easily shift to darkness. One new age teacher in the UK (sorry I forget her name right now) spoke of how the mass deaths after the vaccine rollout were a necessary purge of ‘low vibrational energies’ from the earth.
In this video from the Magical Mystery church Laura shares clips of ‘Christian’ and political commentators calling for execution for treason and other crimes. With Labour introducing Euthanasia, and many in the UK calling for the return of the death penalty, the sanctity of life seems to be rapidly disappearing.
I’m seeing how the puzzles fit together now, that the over emphasis on a ‘flesh and blood’ war, could literally result in blood shed.
Whenever I think of end times persecution, my mind travels to a cave in the North of Italy, where Christians hid, and prayed, and worshipped, when they were being persecuted and killed.
Could this really happen to us, in this lifetime? It seems such an insane thing to contemplate in our comfortable lives.
But it has happened before, and it will happen again.
Beware of those who appear to come to fight a ‘Christian’ cause in a flesh and blood war.
We must be the ‘salt and light’ wherever we find ourselves in society whether it’s the upper echelons of politics, or chatting to a neighbour on the street. But there’s a huge difference to that and having the audacity to take on God’s battles for ourselves.
Beware of the wolves who are doing that.
I will leave you with this film which is free to watch on YouTube - Polycarp about the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire. It gave me courage to see how with the Holy Spirit, death can be faced without fear.
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. - Revelations 2:10
I was introduced to the insidious NAR movement early last year, which led me to Laura’s amazing work on it and its origins. There are so many people who, from the outside, think what they are seeing, with all the professing ‘Christians’ surrounding Trump et al, is real Christianity, alongside Russell Brand, Candace Owens etc. It is without doubt in my mind, a deliberate infiltration of Christianity by the New Age/New Thought to demonise true followers of Christ. And I see it happening all over the place. Practicing discernment has never been more important.
Great post by the way. I think your list of telltale signs is spot on 🎯
I loved your words and your take. I wanted to suggest that you go deeper as to the new age /occult and the one world religion. Look at the Vatican, for they are the underlying ruler. They are Satan’s earthly authority to play out the conversions and the fake prophets etc. Look to Rome. All roads still lead to Rome.
And also, besides euthanasia and capital punishment, there are now guillotines resurrected in many states. I saw this as news several years ago and didn’t really put two and two together. However think French Revolution merged with Christian crusades. Yep, I do think we have this to look forward to.
